SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The Cal State Monterey Bay women's water polo team went back to San Jose State for two game son Saturday afternoon against Arizona State and San Jose State.
CSUMB didn't have any trouble getting going as they scored twice in each of the first quarters. However, the Otters had trouble stopping the powerful offenses of the Sun Devils and Spartans. CSUMB found themselves down 8–2 at halftime against ASU and trailing 13-3 after three quarters in the same game. The Otters found a similar fate against SJSU trailing 16-2 at halftime en route to a 24-3 loss.
The bright spots for CSUMB were in the way of
Katrina Conen (Granite Bay High School) who recorded two goals on Saturday, scoring once in each game. Goalkeeper
Macy Buhl (Lemoore High School) recorded 15 saves on the day, including eight against Arizona State.
Monterey Bay will play a WWPA game against Cal State East Bay on Friday, April 15 followed by a road game at UC Davis on Sunday, April 17.
