FINAL RESULTS
FAIRFAX, Calif --- In it's final tune–up of the fall season, the Cal State Monterey Bay Men's Golf team competed against Chico State and host Dominican University (Calif.) in the Dominican Fall Invitational at Meadow Golf Club. In a rare 36–hole match, CSUMB took first place honors in both individual and team standings.
The Otters got off to a slow start on the front-nine of Meadow Golf Club as all but on player was over–par. The back–nine saw a drastic turn around as
Anton Rosen (Stockholm, Sweden) dropped five strokes on his way to a round–one–leading 68 (-3), including and eagle on the 15th hole.
Carr Vernon (Poplar Bluff HS) was not far behind, finishing the morning round with a one–under 70, good enough for second place. The Otters came in at even–par after the first 18 holes, holding the top spot on the team leader board.
Rosen continued swinging the hot stick in the second and final round, carding an even 71 to stay at 3–under on the day, taking first place for the tournament. Vernon remained close, staying in second place with a two–round score of 141 (-1). In fact, all five of the Otter players placed in the top ten as
Robby Salomon (Woodside, Calif. / Serra HS) finished in third place at even–par, while
