Salomon Takes Fourth, Otters Second At SSU Invite

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. — Heading into the final round of the Sonoma State Invitational at Foxtail North Golf Course on Tuesday, the Cal State Monterey Bay Men's Golf team held a 2-stroke lead. However, after carding a final round team score of 297, CSUMB finished second place with a 21–over 885. 

Robby Salomon (Woodside, Calif. / Serra HS) turned in the low card for the Otters, posting an even 72 in his final round.  After shooting a 75 and a 71 in his first two rounds, Salomon placed fourth with a 2-over 218. Carr Vernon (Poplar Bluff, Mo. / Poplar Bluff HS)  finished tied for 10th place with a 5-over 221 after posting a third round score of 75, while Ray Richards (Tualatin, Ore. / Tualatin HS) finished 19th with a three-round score of 225 (+9).

The Seawolves finished with the top spot in the team standings (883, +19) and in the individual standings as Eric Ash finished with a 214 (-2).

Cal State Monterey Bay will return home to host the Otter Fall Invitational next Monday and Tuesday, October 20-21 at Bayonet–Black Horse Golf Course, the final tune-up tournament of the fall season.
