SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Cal State Monterey Bay dropped a pair of matches to open play at the Santa Clara Water Polo Invitational Saturday afternoon at SCU's Sullivan Aquatics Center. The Otters fell in their morning match to No. 23 Cal Baptist, 10–1 before a hard–fought 8–5 setback against host Santa Clara.
Freshman
Nicole Lyckfors (Alameda HS) scored CSUMB's lone goal in the morning match versus Cal Baptist. Senior
Lucy Gates (Palomar College) notched her first hat trick of the season with three goals against Santa Clara.
Angela Steele (Agoura HS) and
Marisa Lovos (Tualatin [Ore.] HS) also scored for the Otters against the Broncos
