FINAL RESULTS
SANTEE, Calif. -- Four of the top eight individual finishers wore the MB logo as the Cal State Monterey Bay Men's Golf team finished in the top spot for the second consecutive tournament and the third time this season. The Otters finished with a three round score of 888 (+24), four shots ahead of the second place team.
Ray Richards (Tualatin HS) led the Otters from wire–to–wire, finishing in fourth place with a three–round score of 220 (+4). Richards finished two shots behind the Co–Champions of Adam Stone (CSUEB) and Dalen Yamauchi (HHU).
Brandon Hortt (San Diego, Calif. / West Hills HS) finished tied for fifth at 6–over (222), while
Carr Vernon (Poplar Bluff HS) was alone in seventh place at 7–over (223) and
Fredrik Jullum (Lørenskog, Norway) tied for eighth with a final score of 8–over par (224).
Kevin Steinfeld (Huntington Beach, Calif. / Edison High School) finished outside the top 25, but improved on his score from Monday, finishing in tie for 26th with a 236 (+20)
"Today was so much better after the way we finished yesterday. It was great to see everyone contribute," said head coach
Jason Owen.
Robby Salomon (Woodside, Calif. / Serra HS) played unattached and finished with a three–round score of 234 (+18), good enough for a 25th place finish.
"We have a lot of good players that are learning to score even when they don't hit their best," said Owen.
Monterey Bay will take its talents to East Bay next Monday adn Tuesday, March 30–31, to play in the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, hosted by Cal State East Bay.
