SEASIDE, Calif. — Visiting UC San Diego rallied after dropping the first set to snap Cal State Monterey Bay's 3–match home win streak and hand the Otters a 21–25, 25–12, 25–18, 25–17 defeat Thursday night in The Kelp Bed.
The Otters hit a sizzling .448 in the first set but couldn't sustain that effort and hit just .083 over the balance of the match. The Tritons, meanwhile, built momentum over the course of the evening and finished the night hitting an impressive.305.

Jessica Malcolm (Lodi HS) led the CSUMB offense for the 15th time in 16 matches this season, this time with 14 kills. It was her seventh consecutive match in double figures and 13th of the season.

Rachel Cookus (Thousand Oaks HS) added a match–high 24 digs and a pair of aces.
The Otters will continue their 4–match homestand Saturday when they host 22nd–ranked Cal State San Bernardino in The Kelp Bed for a 7 p.m. first serve.
