Biography


2014 – CSUMB: Victoria Clardy finished second on the team in both attack percentage (.216) and total blocks (59) as part of CSUMB’s middle triumvirate in 2014…she enters her senior season ranked No. 3 all–time in total blocks (213) and block assists (175)…also is tied for No. 4 in block solos (38)…is within striking distance of the Otter career records for block assists (223) and total blocks (295), both currently held by Christine Ricketts…blocked a career–high seven Wildcats at Chico State (Sept. 20)…also begins her final collegiate campaign ranked No. 9 on the CSUMB career kills list with 532…season–high 13 kills came in a win at Cal State Dominguez Hills (Oct. 31)…posted at least five blocks in a match four times in 2014.

2013 – CSUMB: After starting from opening day as a freshman, Victoria grew even more comfortable in her role as a sophomore, setting career highs in every category in 2013…posted nearly 100 more kills than her freshman season (249 vs. 151) while hitting .257, the No. 8 mark on the CSUMB single–season list…posted double–figure kills 11 times in 2013, including a career–high 17 against Academy of Art (Sept. 7)…hit .300 or better 11 times, including a career–best .467 (min. 10 TA) against Azusa Pacific (Sept. 14)…her 18 solo blocks in 2013 rank No. 5 on the Otter season list while her 70 assists and 88 total blocks are both No. 3…matched her (then)career high of six total blocks one week apart in wins at Humboldt State (Nov. 2) and Cal State L.A. (Nov. 9).

2012 – CSUMB: Victoria jumped into the Otter starting lineup on opening day and stayed there throughout the season…ended her freshman campaign second on the team with 58 block assists and 66 total blocks…her 58 block assists rank No. 11 on the CSUMB single season list…matched her season high with five block assists vs. Maryville (Sept. 1) and UC San Diego (Nov. 17)…reached double figures in kills four times, including a season–high 12 at Cal State East Bay (Nov. 13)…posted double–figure digs for the first time (10) in the season finale vs. UCSD (Nov. 17).

High School: Victoria’s primary sport was soccer until switching to volleyball full–time as a high school junior…lettered twice in volleyball at Huntington Beach Marina High School, leading the Vikings to a top 25 ranking in CIF Southern Section Div. 1AA play…was the team’s top blocker with 45 total blocks as a senior…on the soccer pitch, she was team offensive MVP as well as the leading scorer for the Wolfpack FC…played club ball for three teams, finishing up with the Surf City 18 1s last season.

Personal: Victoria is majoring in chemistry at CSUMB…career plans are to attend grad school and work in pediatric physical therapy… earned the Academic Achievement Award from the D2 Athletic Director’s Association and was a CCAA Scholar–Athlete Award winner as a junior…is a member of the Fellow Christian Athletes…was a four–time scholar–athlete in high school…has worked as a youth camp counselor…daughter of Ross and Janet Clardy…has a younger sister, Samantha.
