HONOLULU – The Cal State Monterey Bay water polo team made its first trip outside the state in the program's 10 years of existence this past weekend. The Otter dropped games against two top-ranked teams, falling 14-5 to No. 9 Hawaii on Sunday after a 13-5 decision against No. 16 UC Davis on Friday.

I am quite pleased with how we performed overall," said Head Coach Gary Figueroa. "This was great preparation as we get ready for the WWPA Championships in two weeks."

Eight different Otters scored this weekend with Nicole Koorndyk (Claremont HS) and Ashton Palmer (Salt Lake City, Utah/Cottonwood HS) tallying two goals apiece against UC Davis on Friday.  The other six Otters who found the back of the net were: Bree Hogervorst (Ramona/Mountain Valley Academy), Sydney Nguyen (Cottonwood Heights, Utah/Brighton HS), Cami Kellogg (Felton/San Lorenzo Valley HS), Samantha Whitecotton (Roseville/Woodcreek HS), Jessica Laurence (Danville/Monte Vista HS) and Adrianna Craft (Belmont, Mich./Rockford HS)

Junior Amanda Jennings (Oakley/Freedom HS) collected 19 total saves in the two games.
