SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's water polo team won its fourth consecutive game, defeating fellow WWPA-member Cal State San Bernardino, 9-4, on Sunday at the Otter Tank.

"We defended well from the start of the game, which set the tone for our offense," said Head Coach Gary Figueroa. "Knowing this was an important conference game, the team came out strong and played four solid quarters."

Just 45 seconds into the game, the Otters took a 1-0 lead on Cami Kellogg's (Felton/San Lorenzo Valley HS) first of three goals in the game.

An Ashton Palmer (Salt Lake City, Utah/Cottonwood HS) goal from seven meters out put CSUMB up 2-0 at the end of the first quarter.

CSUSB's first goal was sandwiched by back-to-back lob shot goals by freshman Adrianna Craft (Belmont, Mich./Rockford HS). Kellogg extended CSUMB's lead with two more goals to close out the half at 6-1.

Both teams racked up three goals in the second half with Palmer, Sam Whitecotton (Roseville/Woodcreek HS) and Sydney Nguyen (Cottonwood Heights, Utah/Brighton HS) scoring for CSUMB.

Junior Amanda Jennings (Oakley/Freedom HS) allowed a season-low four goals while tallying 14 saves.

CSUMB (7-10, 2-0 WWPA) is back in action Sunday, March 23 with a pair of games against University of Redlands (noon) and Santa Clara University (3 p.m.) in Santa Clara.
