SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's water polo team recorded its largest margin of victory of 2014, enjoying a 12-6 win over visiting Mercyhurst (Pa.) on Tuesday afternoon at The Otter Tank.
 
The Otters improve to 6-10 while the Lakers dropped to 6-4 on the season. Ashton Palmer, Bree Hogervost and Nicole Koorndyk each chipped in three goals while goalie Amanda Jennings tallied 16 saves.
 
Never trailing in the entire 32 minutes, CSUMB scored four unanswered goals to open the game.  The Otters pulled out to a 7-2 halftime lead following a strong first quarter featuring five goals and six saves by Jennings.
 
The Otters return to action on Sunday, March 16 to host Cal State San Bernardino in their second WWPA conference game.  First sprint is 11 a.m.
