IRVINE, Calif. — Concordia University scored three goals in the final period to pull away late for a 9–4 win over Cal State Monterey Bay Friday at the Woolett Aquatics Center.

The win gave Concordia the WWPA Western Division title and No. 1 seed in next week's WWPA Championship Tournament. The Otters will enter tournament play as the No. 3 seed.

CSUMB held an early 2–1 lead before the Golden Eagles scored four straight times to jump ahead. A Nalani Galindo (Poway HS/Miramar College) score in the waning seconds of the first half and an Olivia Gutierrez (San Diego/Bonita Vista HS) goal early in the second knotted the score at 4–4.

That's where it stayed until late in the third period, when a Kennedy Brubaker tally broke the tie in favor of the Golden Eagles. Concordia then shut the door over the final 9:58 of regulation to make their lead stand up.

Gutierrez scored twice to pace the Otter offense. Galindo and Abby Allan (Sanger HS) scored the other Otter goals.
