GAME 1: Chico State 2, CSUMB 0
In the series opener, senior Josh Eagle (Antioch/Sierra College) put together his best performance since donning the Otter uniform last season.  Eagle and Chico State starter Nick Baker put together a true pitching duel that consisted of only seven hits and two runs. Unfortunately for the Otters, Chico State's four hits were timely ones that led to the Wildcat victory.

The Wildcats' first hit came in the bottom of the third when Cody Slader doubled to left field and scored on Eric Angerer's single.

With one out in the seventh, Chico State's Tyler Madrid doubled to left center and was pushed across the plate on Danny Miller's single through the left side.

CSUMB was unable to capitalize on three Wildcat errors. The Otters had six base runners but were not able to make it past second base.

Eagle (1-2) tossed his first complete game at CSUMB, striking out four batters and giving up only four hits.

GAME 2: Chico State 5, CSUMB 4
For the sixth time this season, CSUMB saw its early lead slip away.  The Otters put together four runs in the third inning, but Chico State responded with five runs spread out over three consecutive late innings.

With the bases loaded, senior Mark Hurley (Hollister/College of San Mateo) once again stepped up big for CSUMB, singling to center field to plate senior Travis Bonner (Los Gatos/West Valley College) who led off the third inning with a walk.  Junior Blake Grant-Parks (Yuba City/Sierra College) followed with an RBI single of his own up the middle.  Freshman Josh Heinz drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 3-0.  Hurley scored the final run of the inning on a Ty Morris fielder's choice.

Chico State cut CSUMB's lead to 4-3 on a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth inning.

The Wildcats put together a two-run rally in the seventh inning on two sacrifice bunts.

CSUMB starter Chris Daniels went 5.1 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits.  He struck out four batters while walking two.

Hurley and Johnson put together two hits apiece.
