Five Otters Named CSC Academic All-District

Drew Aguiar, Hayden Hall, Andrew Kotin, Andrew Lehmann and Noah Zertuche recognized

SEASIDE, Calif. – Five Cal State Monterey Bay baseball student-athletes earned spots on the Academic All-District team as selected by the College Sports Communicators. The organization recognized seniors Drew Aguiar, Hayden Hall, Andrew Kotin and Noah Zertuche and junior Andrew Lehmann.
 
In order to be nominated for Academic All-District or Academic All-America® consideration, student-athletes must carry a minimum 3.50 grade point average and compete in at least 90 percent of a team's contests or start at least 66 percent of them.
 
Aguiar showcased a 3.80 GPA in communications to earn the award for the second straight season. The senior garnered All-CCAA Honorable Mention accolades after posting a 5-2 record with a 5.22 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 18 appearances. He was the only pitcher in the conference to record at least five wins and five saves during the year.
 
Hall boasted a 3.89 GPA in business in his lone season with the Otters. The senior was named All-CCAA honorable mention and was tabbed the CCAA/FloCollege Pitcher of the Week on April 20. Hall finished 7-4 with a 5.31 ERA and sported a team-high 61 Ks in 14 appearances.
 
Kotin earned his spot academically for the second time with a 3.79 GPA in kinesiology. The righthander made history by being the first Otter to be named CCAA Pitcher of the Year. The senior was also tabbed to the NCBWA, ABCA and CCA All-West Region first team. He capped off his stellar season with a 3.90 earned run average, going 9-1 over 67 innings pitched.
 
Lehmann had a breakout campaign during his junior season, batting .331 with nine home runs and 45 RBI. The All-CCAA and ABCA All-West Region second-team selection scored 40 times and added 11 doubles. Lehmann holds a 3.79 GPA in business.
 
Zertuche was tabbed all-district after posting a 3.95 GPA in biology. The outfielder was an All-CCAA Honorable Mention selection for the second straight year and garnered the Elite 13 Award at the CCAA Tournament. The senior batted .254 with six home runs and 32 RBI.
 
The Otters finished the season 37-18 overall, claiming their fifth straight CCAA Regular Season conference title and earning their seventh consecutive NCAA postseason berth.
