SEASIDE, Calif. - The 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year were announced across all eight regions. Selections were voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and coordinated by the
ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
The Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team was represented by first-teamers
Andrew Kotin and
James Starkus, while
Andrew Lehmann garnered second-team recognition.
Starkus was one of the top offensive threats in the region in his first season with the Otters. The junior led the squad with a .358 batting average, 1.146 OPS, .668 slugging, .478 on-base percentages, 13 homers, 19 doubles and 35 walks. The All-CCAA second-team honoree led the league in doubles and walks.
Kotin made history by being the first Otter to be named CCAA Pitcher of the Year. The senior was also tabbed to the NCBWA and CCA All-West Region first team. He capped off his stellar season with a 3.90 earned run average, going 9-1 over 67 innings pitched. The right-hander had a 1.34 WHIP. The senior went 5-0 in conference play, while CSUMB was 10-1 in games that he started en route to being tabbed to the first team.
Lehmann was a mainstay up the middle for the Otters, batting .331 with nine home runs and 45 RBI. The All-CCAA second-team selection scored 40 times and added 11 doubles. The junior sported a team-high 17-game hitting streak and boasted 16 multi-hit games.
The Otters finished the season 37-18 overall, claiming their fifth straight CCAA Regular Season conference title and earning their seventh consecutive NCAA postseason berth.
