GAME 1: CSULA 12, CSUMB 11
For the fourth time in five games, the Otters saw their lead escape them in the final opponent's at-bat.  This time it was a five run top of the ninth performance by the Golden Eagles.

The Otters enter the bottom of the ninth trailing by three runs.  Sophomore Matt Urakami (San Jose/Branham HS) doubled to push freshman Josh Heinz (Santa Clarita/West Ranch HS) to third after leading off with single through the right side.  Two outs later, Hurley laid one down the middle for his fifth hit of the game to cut the Golden Eagles' lead to one run.  But CSUMB's rally came to an end when Casillas got the final.

The game consisted of four ties and four lead changes with neither team leading by more than 3 runs.

Heinz and Johnson each chipped in three hits while seniors Cannon Bernarding (San Jose/West Valley College) and Travis Bonner (Los Gatos/West Valley College) added two apiece.

The Golden Eagles were led by Niko Garcia, Jesus Cuevas and Trent Zaks with three hits each.
