FINAL RESULTS
Seaside, Calif --- The 2014 Otter Invitational commenced Tuesday and after trailing Nova Southeastern by three strokes in the team standings, the Cal State Monterey bay Men's Golf team slipped to +29 (893) for the tournament, good for a third place finish at Bayonet Golf Course.
The final round at the Otter Invite proved much harder for most teams due to tough pin placement on the greens, compared to the first two rounds. After leading the field after day one,
Robby Salomon (Woodside, Calif. / Serra HS) fell back into sixth place at a +7, 223, but remained the low scorer for CSUMB.
Carr Vernon (Poplar Bluff HS) and
Anton Rosen (Stockholm, Sweden) finished one-shot back of Salomon at +7 with a final three-round score of 224, placing them in the top ten tied for seventh.
Nova was able to sweep the tournament, taking the top spot in the team standings, shooting a combine score of 885 (+21), while Richard Mansell finished three strokes ahead of the second place finisher with a score of 215 (-1), the only player under par for the tournament.
Cal State Monterey Bay will finish up it's fall schedule on Monday, November 3rd when they travel to Dominican University to play in a one day tri-match against DU and Chico State.
