Alex Tyrrell and the Otters fell to SSU 8-5 on Friday afternoon at The Otter Tank.
SEASIDE, Calif.—In non-conference action, Sonoma State defeated Cal State Monterey Bay 8-5 at The Otter Tank on Friday afternoon.
The Otters looked good in the early goings as they held a 2-1 advantage after the first quarter of play. To be sure, this game was won in the second and third quarters where SSU outscored CSUMB 6-1.
The Otters were lead by senior
Julie Cooper (Wildomar,Calif./Elsinore HS) and sophomore
Hayley Burke (San Diego, Calif./Patrick Henry HS) who each scored two goals on the afternoon.
Amanda Jennings (Oakley, Calif./Freedom HS) made 17 saves on the day.
The Seawolves were lead by Adrienne Bisharat and Jessica Stansfield who each scored two goals a piece.
While down by four with less than a minute of play the Otters continued to fight. Cooper scored a goal with :08 to make the score 8-5 and prove their mettle.
Cal State Monterey Bay returns to action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Cal State East Bay for a date with the Pioneers. First sprint is noon.
