SEASIDE, Calif. -- Five matches, three wins and two near upsets of nationally–ranked team qualifies as arguably the best roadtrip in Cal State Monterey Bay volleyball history. The Otters hope to ride momentum from that trip into their only home contests in the month of October when they host San Francisco State Friday (Oct. 18) and nationally–ranked Sonoma State Saturday (Nov. 19) in The Kelp Bed. First serve both nights is 7 p.m.
Friday night is alo Dig For A Cure Night, when the Otters will don pink to help raise awarenss for cancer research and prevention.

The Otters a fresh off one of their best performances in last Saturday's near shocker at No. 11 UC San Diego. They one the first and third sets to take a 2–1 lead on the Tritons and were up late in the fourth before UCSD rallied for the 5–set win.
CSUMB got 25 kills from sophomore
Jessica Malcolm (Lodi HS), her second 25–kill match of 2013. She joins teammate
Julia Ashen (North Salinas HS) and Rheann Fall as the only Otters ever to have two 25–kill matches in a single season.
Ashen enters the weekend ranked No. 2 among NCAA Division II attackers by averaging 4.95 kills per set. Also of note, junior
Kelsey Johnston (Ripon HS) is just 21 assists away from becoming the third setter in CSUMB history to record 2,000 assists in her career. She's 1,064 assists away from Nicki Sanderson's Otter record of 2,143.
