Otters Swept At Stanislaus

MB loses 25-19, 25-13-25 16

TURLOCK, Calif. — It was a tough night for the Cal State Monterey Bay volleyball team as the Otters fell 25–19, 25–13, 25–16 at Stanislaus State in Fitzpatrick Arena.

A promising start saw the Otters claim an 11–9 lead in the first set, but it was all Stanislaus from that point. The Warriors used a 7–0 run to take control of the set.

The second set was tied at 11–11 before an 11–0 Stanislaus surge put that one on ice. The Warriors raced to a 12–4 lead in the third and never looked back.

Malia Peterson (Redondo Union HS) and Zoe Haan (Phoenix/Sunny slope HS) led the Otters with nine and eight kills respectively. Mia Dilley (Fresno CC/Clovis East HS) led three Otter defenders in double figures with 13 digs.

THE MATCH WAS OVER WHEN… a 5–0 run in early in the third set gave Stanislaus a 12–4 lead. The Otters never got closer than seven points the rest of the way.

HOW LOW CAN YOU GO? One night after a near record-breaking performance by holding San Francisco State to just nine points in the opening set, the Otters found themselves on the other side of the fence Saturday by scoring 48 total points at Stanislaus State. That marked their fewest points in a match in nearly two full seasons.

COUNTDOWN TO 300… Freshman Zoe Haan collected eight kills at Stanislaus State to move to within seven of 300. She is looking to become just the 10th different Otter ever to reach 300 kills in a single season.

DILLEY REACHES 600 DIGS… Senior Mia Dilley's match-high 13 digs Saturday at Stanislaus State bringing her career total 601. That mark ranks No. 19 on the Otter career digs list. Amongst 2-year players, only Jennifer Holda (901 from 2004–05) ever had more in an Otter uniform.

LEADERS OF THE RAFT… POINTS: Malia Peterson 9.5; KILLS: Malia Peterson 9; BLOCKS: Malia Thorne 2; ACES: Maya Cann 2; DIGS: Mia Dilley 13.

THEY'VE GOT NEXT… The Otters continue their season-ending roadtrip by visiting Southern California for their final two matches of 2025. They'll play at Cal State San Bernardino Friday (Nov. 14) and at Cal State San Marcos Saturday (Nov. 15). First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. both nights. Fans who can't make it on the road can watch all of the action on the FloSports network (OtterAthletics.com/watch).
