FRESNO, Calif.—There wasn't much time to reflect on Friday's heartbreaking loss for the Cal State Monterey Bay women's water polo team. It was a good thing as the Otters rode a four-goal performance by
Jackie Walters to an 8-6 victory over Azusa Pacific on Saturday afternoon. CSUMB followed it up with an 11-4 win against host Fresno Pacific.
Walters led all CSUMB scorers with five goals and two assists on the day.
Alex Tyrrell added four goals while
Kylie Fields dominated on defense with seven blocked shots.
The Otters next play at UC Davis on Saturday, Jan. 26 for a 12 p.m.

Against Azusa Pacific, the Otters held a 5-4 advantage at the halftime break.
Julie Cooper and Tyrrell each scored to put CSUMB up 7-5 in the third quarter. Both teams notched a goal in the final eight minutes.

Amanda Jennings held Fresno Pacific scoreless in the first quarter as CSUMB's offense exploded with Fields, Burke and Tyrrell each finding the back of the net.
After holding a 6-2 lead at the midpoint, CSUMB notched five goals while keeping the Sunbirds to two goals to close out the win.
