SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's water polo sent their senior class off with an exciting 14-9 conference win over Division I Colorado State in their final regular season home game of the 2012 season.
Goalie
Paige Robinson had a break out game in goal with 18 saves in all four quarters. Christina Vournas (Agoura Hills / Agoura ) added 11 field blocks to the total, keeping the Rams from outscoring the Otters in three-of-four quarters.
CSUMB shot just over 50 percent as a whole, with
Nikki Smart (Clovis/Buchanan HS) leading the Otters with four goals and two assists.
The Otter water polo teams heads to the Bronco Invitational at Santa Clara University where they will face Cal State East Bay followed by a late afternoon game where they will take on the Tritons of UC San Diego for the first time this season. CSUMB will return to the Otter Tank on Sunday, Apr. 15 to host the Alumnae set for a 11 a.m. start time.
