SEASIDE, Calif.
- The Cal State Monterey Bay women's water polo team will host their first of three mini-tournaments Saturday, Feb.  4. Division I conference opponent Santa Clara University and nonconference Fresno Pacific will be visiting the Otter Tank.

LOOKING AHEAD:  The Otters will have a weekend off of competition before heading on the road to conference opponent Sonoma State on Saturday, Feb. 18, followed by a trip to Santa Clara University on Feb 25. CSUMB's return to the Otter Tank will be short, hosting a single game against Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday, Feb. 26 before a stretch of eight straight road games.

WHEN WE LAST MET SANTA CLARA: The Otters last met the Broncos in the middle of the 2011 season at the SCU Rodeo Tournament in what was an evenly played match. Santa Clara's two goal lead out of the first quarter is what would ultimately give them the 9-7 win over CSUMB after the two teams would tie in each of the remaining periods.

WHEN WE LAST MET FRESNO PACIFIC: CSUMB saw the Sunbirds just two short weeks ago in Fresno, Calif. The Otters took a road victory over FPU 15-6. Sr. Nikki Smart led the Otters with six goals.

RECORD SETTING: Senior Nikki Smart is on a record setting pace for goals scored in a single season, totaling 18 in just two weeks of action. If she continues at this pace, she will reach the 100-goal mark. Last season Smart reached that goal on April 8 in a conference game against Cal State San Bernardino recording three goals against the Coyotes.
