STOCKTON, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's water polo team closed out its 2011 regular season on Saturday, falling to the University of the Pacific Tigers, 15-7.
The Otters enter the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) tournament with a 16-18 overall record and 3-5 in conference play.
CSUMB ended the half with the scored tied at 5-5, but were outscored 5-1 in each of the final two quarters.
Senior #Chloe McRae# and junior #Nikki Smart# each contributed two goals while senior #Katie Sowul# joined sophomores #Ali Woollett# and #Jackie Walters# with one goal apiece.
Sophomore starting goalkeeper #Christina Vournas# recorded four saves before being relieved by sophomore #Paige Robinson# who nabbed seven saves.
The Otters next compete in the WWPA Tournament this weekend, opening up against Cal State San Bernardino on Friday, April 29 at 9 a.m.
