BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's water polo team concluded the Roadrunner Invitational hosted by Cal State Bakersfield with two big wins over Pomona Pitzer and conference foe Cal State San Bernardino.

The Otters dropped a 9-5 decision to University of Redlands in their opening game on Saturday.  They next squared off against host CSUB, falling 15-8 to the Roadrunners.  On Sunday, CSUMB bounced back with an 18-11 victory over Pomona Pitzer.  The Otters closed out the weekend with a 12-9 win over Cal State San Bernardino.

For the weekend, the Otters were led by junior #Nikki Smart# who racked up 15 goals in the four games.  Junior #Katie Sowul# netted nine goals and senior #Chloe McRae# added seven goals.  Sophomore goalkeeper #Christina Vournas# recorded 41 saves in the two days.

The Otters next host Concordia-Irvine at 10 a.m. and Cal State East Bay at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 2.
