LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- Cal State Bakersfield defeated Cal State Monterey Bay 13-5 Saturday in the second consolation semifinal of the 2008 Western Water Polo Association Championship hosted by Loyola Marymount University at the Burns Recreation and Aquatics Center.
The Roadrunners jumped to a 4-1 lead after the first period and 8-2 at halftime. Becky Seelos had five goals and Petra Kouelkova had four in the win for CSUB, which improved to 19-17 on the season.
#Stephanie Salvi# scored three goals for the Otters and #Erin Lee# scored the other two. Goalie #Jenna Beer# made eight saves.
Cal State Monterey Bay will now face Sonoma State in the seventh place game at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. The Otters are now 18-13 on the season.
