THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. --- The Otters defeated Villanova 9-3 and Fresno Pacific 11-5 on Sunday to finish 6-0 at at the Cal Lutheran Spring Water Polo Tournament.

Cal State Monterey Bay's previous matches had generally been close. They beat  the University of La Verne (Calif.) 10-3 and the University of Redlands 9-7 on Saturday. Friday, the team beat Concordia University of Irvine, Calif. 8-7 and host Cal Lutheran 11-8.

With two matches each day, the entire team has received a lot of playing time and Sunday's scoring came from a variety of players. #Chelsea Laning#, #Chloe McRae#, #Stephanie Salvi#, #Nikki Smart# and #Erica Bergeson# all scored three goals between the two matches.

Neither of Sunday's contests was ever very close. The Otters led Villanova 2-0 after the first period and outscored the opposition in each succeeding period. The Fresno Pacific match was over even quicker as the Otters jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first period and led 7-2 at the half.

The Otters are at home for their next two matches, Concordia University in Irvine and Cal State East Bay, and CSUMB has beaten both teams 8-7. Both come to Seaside on Saturday; Concordia plays at 10 a.m. and Easy Bay at 3:30 p.m.
