Four Otter players in Top 25

TURLOCK, Calif. — Four Otter players earned spots in the Top 25 to help Cal State Monterey Bay men's golf to a share of sixth place after Day 1 of The Hanny tournament Monday at Turlock Golf and Country Club.

Junior Alex Cooke (Spokane, Wash/Gonzaga Prep) leads the quartet in 10th place at 1-over through 36 holes. He carded CSUMB's best round with a 3-under 68 in the afternoon.

Freshman Ben Christian (Dexter [Mo.] Senior HS/Southern Indiana) and sophomore Nick Savano (Windsor HS) are tied for 16th place at 4-over. Christian fired a 72 in the second round. Savano, playing as an individual, shot even-par 72 Monday afternoon.

Senior Colin Huang (Corona Del Mar HS/Sonoma State) and junior George Goff (Orlando, Fla./Gardner-Webb Univ.) also shot 2-over 73s Monday afternoon.

Cal State San Bernardino leads the tournament at 4-under entering Tuesday's final round. The Otters are at plus-17, six strokes out of third place with 18 holes to play.
