MONTEREY, Calif. - The Cal State Monterey Bay women's track and field team put on a distance clinic on Saturday, securing a clean sweep in the 3,000m steeplechase and a top-of-the-podium finish in the 1,500m at the annual Lobo Invitational hosted by Monterey Peninsula College.

The Otters' depth was on full display as they claimed the top four spots in the steeple and placed four runners in the top five of the 1,500m.

The Otters dominated the 3,000m steeplechase from the gun, finishing 1-2-3-4, posting three conference meet qualifying times.
Cozette Wood led the charge, clocking a winning time of 11:36.47. She was followed a fraction of a second later by sophomore
Hannah Amundsen (11:36.74).

Junior
Cassidy Andreadakis secured third place with an 11:43.59, while senior
Maya Centeno rounded out the sweep in fourth at 11:54.76.

The momentum carried directly into the 1,500m, where sophomore
Rachel Hoops outdueled the field to take the individual crown. Hoops crossed the line in 4:48.24, fending off Ericka Dorn of San Mateo to keep the Otters atop the leaderboard.

CSUMB showcased its middle-distance strength by taking four of the top five spots. Sophomore
Angeline Gutierrez took third (4:53.91), followed closely by freshman
Reese Colton (4:59.75) and junior
Daniela Munguia (5:00.12).

Cadence Mitchell also posted a solid performance, finishing the race in 5:09.81 to round out a successful day for the Otter distance squad. Hoops and Gutierrez hit CCAA marks.

The full Otter squad will be on display next weekend at the Sunbird Invitational hosted by Fresno Pacific.
