WESTERN WASHINGTON LIVE SCORING | RCA ELECTRIC LIVE SCORING

BELLINGHAM, Wash./CARMEL, Calif. — It was a busy Monday for Cal State Monterey Bay's men's golfers with all nine Otters in action up and down the Pacific coast. The main contingent visited Bellingham Country Club for the Western Washington Invitational while the remaining four individuals traveled a few miles down Highway 1 to Quail Lodge for the RCA Electric Invitational hosted by Menlo College.

The main squad played through cold, rainy conditions in the Pacific Northwest, shooting team scores of 5-over and 4-over to claim eighth place through 36 holes at the WWU Invite.

Grand Canyon University transfer Alex Cooke (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep) posted CSUMB's lone red number of the day with a 2-under 70 in the afternoon. He finished the day at 2-under for a share of eighth place.

Senior Colin Huang (Newport Beach/Corona Del Mar HS) bounced back from a morning 75 to card a 72 in the afternoon, finishing at 3-over, good for 30th place. Freshman Kash Cantrell (Benton, Ill./Benton Consolidated HS) also earned a spot in the top half of the 81-player field by finishing the day in 35th place at 4-over.

Ryan Vest of the University of British Columbia-Okanagan holds the individual lead through 36 holes at 10-under 134. Jacob Torres of Hawaii-Hilo is in second place, three strokes back.

As a team, the Otters will enter Tuesday's final round in eight place at 9-over. UBC-Okanagan lapped the field Monday, going 12-under in the afternoon to claim a 9-stroke lead at 14-under. Fellow Canadian school Simon Fraser University is in second place at 5-under. Host Western Washington is third at 1-over.

Closer to home, the Otter individuals would be well out in front of the RCA Electric Invitational were they playing as a team. CSUMB's four golfers finished the day at even par through 36 holes, which would have them 13 strokes ahead of official leader Claremont-Mudd-Scripps entering Tuesday's final round.

Junior George Goff (Orlando, Fla./Gardner-Webb Univ.) and sophomore Simon Germain (Lyon, France) led the way, finishing play Monday in third and fourth place respectively. Goff went 67–71 (-4) while Germain went 71–68 (-3). They'll chase Tucker Sweeney (-6) of Santa Clara University for medalist honors in Tuesday's final round.
