CLAREMONT – The Cal State Monterey Bay cross country team continued its ascension to start the 2025 season as the Otters tackled the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational Saturday morning at the PPXC Home Campus Course.
The CSUMB women placed fourth overall with 133 points and the men finished seventh at 204 points.
"Today was our first time at this course," head coach
Greg Rhines said. "The teams quickly learned that it was far from being a fast one. That being said, lifetime personal bests were accomplished today and that's remarkable. I am looking forward to the Bronco Invite."
For the second meet in a row,
Daniela Munguia was the top finisher for the Otters with a 6k time of 22:18.8 to place 17th.

Ali Keith closely followed in 21

th, respectively. Hoops crossed the line in 22:31.4 and Keith posted a time of 22:34.7.

th. They passed the finish mat in nearly identical times of 22:58.0 and 22:58.6.
In the 8k men's race, sophomore
Hanival Osorio-Martinez paced the squad with a time of 26:10.8 to place 41

The Otters will return to the course on Saturday, Oct. 18, when they head to Baylands Park for the Bronco Invitational.
