PUEBLO, Colo. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team sits in 16
th place at 35-over after the opening round of the NCAA West Preview held at the Pueblo Country Club.
"Disappointing round from beginning to end today," CSUMB head coach
Jim Ragan said. "Team wise we had an abundance of unforced errors. The greens were quick and challenging just as they were for all the other teams in the tournament. We have a lot of work to do if we want to compete and have the success we are capable of. Hopefully, we learned from the mistakes we made today and are able to post a more respectable score tomorrow."
Leading the way for the Otters on day one was sophomore transfer
Rori Fanning with a 7-over 78, carding two birdies to start the tournament in 36
th place.
Senior
Cathy Tong is in 47
th place with an 8-over 79 and sophomore
Morgan Pittman follows in 55
th with a 9-over 80.
Newcomer
Audrey Cheng shot and 11-over 82 to post a 78
th place round and classmate
Khivi Kaur rounded out CSUMB in 100
th with a 16-over 87.
The Otters will return to the course tomorrow, teeing off at 8:30 a.m.
