SAN FRANCISCO – The Cal State Monterey Bay cross country team competed in its final tune-up for the conference championship at the San Francisco State Invitational held at Golden Gate Park.

Greg Rhines said. "Congratulations to Jaime and Ali in leading our packs to very strong performances out there. Both have cracked into the top three MB times ever at this race."
Senior
Jaime Gonzalez paced the Otters with a fourth place finish, crossing the line on the 8k course in the second fastest time in program history at Golden Gate Park with a time of 25:23.9.
Junior
Alex Fernandes was 20
th overall with a time of 25:52.5 and newcomer
Erik Bromley set a CSUMB freshman course record with a time of 26:03.7 to place 22
nd.
Sophomore
Cameron Cornforth was 26
th with a 26:12 and classmate
Jake Walton rounded out the Otter scorers with a 26:46.2.
On the women's side, junior
Ali Keith once again led the Otters with a 13
th place finish, crossing the 6k line in a time of 22:26.4.
Cassidy Andreadakis was 26
th with a time of 22:57.5 and sophomore
Cozette Wood was 37
th with a 23:23.5.
Daniel Munguia and
Maya Centeno were 40
th and 41
st, respectively, running nearly identical times of 23:42.7 and 23:43.3.
The Otters will compete at the CCAA Championships on Saturday, October 26 at Woodward Park.
