FINAL ROUND RESULTS

FINDLAY, Ohio — Cal State Monterey Bay sophomore Linnea Karlsson (Äkersberga, Sweden) capped her first trip to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championship Tournament with a 78 Saturday to finish tied for 38th at Findlay Country Club. Her 38th place finish and 318 total marked the fourth–best finishes ever by an Otter women's golfer in NCAA Championship play.

"This national championship experience put the Otters back into the spotlight of the top teams in the nation," said CSUMB Head Coach James Earle. "And it proved what I already knew: Linnea has the game, the talent and the work ethic to compete with the very best NCAA golfers."

After posting Friday's top round with a 74, Karlsson once again placed in the top half of the field with Saturday's 78. She's was on pace for an even more impressive round after playing her first 13 holes at 2–over before taking a few bogeys on her finishing run.

"Linnea was playing very well again today. A few untimely bogeys down the stretch prevented her from posting the number we wanted," said Earle. "But that was not what this week was about, and all Otters fans should be very proud of the NCAA Championship Linnea played."

For the first time in the entire tournament, a player broke par Saturday afternoon. Marie Coors of Saint Leo University carded a 71 to complete her comeback and win the individual national championship at 7–over 295. Charlotte Puts of Barry University recorded the championship's low round with a 70 to finish as runner up at 297.

Led by Puts' low round, Barry rallied from six strokes back at the start of the day to win the team championship by one stroke over Dallas Baptist, 1,222 to 1,223.
