LOS ANGELES — The end of a trip which featured three matches and two trips to Southern California in a week came on a sour note as No. 34 Cal State L.A. handed Cal State Monterey Bay a 25–18, 26–24, 25–15 defeat Tuesday night in The Eagles Nest.
Jessica Malcolm (Lodi HS) led the Otters, reaching double figures for the eighth time in 11 matches with 10 kills.
Victoria Clardy (Westminster/Marina HS) added seven kills with no errors for a team–best .583 attack percentage.
After L.A. eased away to win the first set, the Otters saved a pair of set points in the second before the Golden Eagles held on for the win. MB led 6–4 early in the third before L.A. flew away with the win by finishing the match on a 21–9 run.
The Otters return home where they've won their last two matches to host CCAA newcomer Cal State San Marcos Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. Their will be a Blue Crue tailgate and BBQ for CSUMB students beginning at 6 p.m.
GO OTTERS!
