POMONA, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay volleyball team couldn't complete its comeback attempt, falling at Cal Poly Pomona in four sets, 27–25, 25–20, 17–25 and 25–16 Saturday afternoon in Kellogg Arena.
Senior outside hitter
Jessica Malcolm (Lodi HS) led the offense with 13 kills versus the Broncos. In so doing, she passed Brittany Etchings for No. 3 on the Otter career kills list with 1,256. She needs 22 more to catch
Julia Ashen for the No. 2 spot.
Also of note,
Victoria Clardy (Westminster/Marina HS) led all blockers with five blocks and passed Tiffaney Riggs for No. 2 on the Otter career blocks list with 256.
Rachel Cookus (Thousand Oaks HS) notched two aces to pass Katie Bos for No. 6 on that career list with 77.
CSUMB will conclude its 3–match trip to the Greater L.A. area with a match at Cal State L.A. on Tuesday evening. The Otters return home to host Cal State San Marcos on Oct. 3.
