COYOTE 3–DOT NOTES (9–3, 5–3 CCAA): For those who have been living under a rock for the past two season, the Coyotes are led by former Otter Coach Renee Jimenez, who has turned the Coyotes into a CCAA contender after just one season at the helm…After opening the season on a 6–game winning streak, the Coyotes have split their most recent six entering Thursday's meeting with the Otters…are coming off a sweep of the Stanislaus–Chico trip…their balanced offense features four players averaging between 8.3 and 12.3 ppg…San Francisco State transfer Brianna Harden leads the team in both scoring (12.3 ppg) and rebounding (10.2 rpg).
WHEN LAST WE MET: The last time these teams played was in front of a national television audience, where the injury–depleted Otters fell to the Coyotes 67–51. CSUMB actually led for a good chunk of the first half before San Bernardino rallied to take a 32–24 lead at intermission.
Chezla Self led CSUMB with 16 points. Alexcia Mack led San Bernardino with 18..
WHEN LAST WE PLAYED: The Otters gave CCAA contender Cal State Dominguez Hills all it could handle before the Toros pulled away from the free–throw line late to win 62–48 on Jan. 10. The Otters were still within three points with under five minutes remaining but missed their final nine attempts from the field.
Jenna Bandy led CSUMB with 10 points and four steals.
THIS DATE IN OTTER HISTORY: Julie Heurung, now an assistant coach at San Bernardino, matched her own Otter record for the third time with five blocks in a 63–55 win at Sonoma State on Jan. 15, 2011.
REBOUNDING UP HILL: Sophomore forward
McKenna Hill notched a career high in rebounds for the second consecutive game when she pulled down 10 boards last Saturday versus Cal State Dominguez Hills. She grabbed nine in the previous game at San Francisco State on Jan. 3.
ON THE REBOUND: With 12 rebounds at Sonoma State (Jan. 12) and 13 at San Francisco State (Jan. 3),
Jazmine Johnson became the first Otter to pull down double–digit rebounds in consecutive games since
Mykayla Harris had 14 at Cal Poly Pomona and 10 at Humboldt State on Feb. 6–8, 2014.
DOUBLE DOWN ON THE REBOUND: Not only did
Jazmine Johnson pull down 12 boards, but
Mykayla Harris joined her in double figures with 10. It marked the first time two Otters recorded double–digit rebounds in the same game since
Ashley Morgan grabbed 14 and
Holly Holcomb grabbed 12 at UC San Diego on Jan. 11, 2014.
DOUBLE–DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE: Jazmine Johnson became the first Otter to record a double–double this season. It was the first double–double by an Otter since
Ashley Morgan scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the 2013–14 season finale at San Francisco State.
DOUBLE DOUBLE–DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE: Jazmine Johnson posted her second consecutive double–double with 13 points and 10 rebounds last Friday vs. Cal State L.A. She is the first Otter to turn that trick since Brittni Jefferson did it against UC San Diego and Cal State Stanislaus on Feb. 23 & 28, 2013.
WELCOME TO THE DOUBLE–DOUBLE CLUB: With 15 points and 10 rebounds Jan. 9 against the Golden Eagles
Jenna Bandy recorded the first double–double of her collegiate career.
DOUBLE DOUBLE–DOUBLE, PART DEUX: With their double double–doubles versus Cal State L.A. on Jan. 9,
Jenna Bandy and

70 IS THE ANSWER TO EVERYTHING: With apologies to Douglas Adams, the answer to everything isn't 42, it's 70. With 84–80 win at San Francisco State on Jan. 3, CSUMB is now 35–2 when scoring 70 or more points since the 2008–09 season. Prior to the 2013 regular season finale (an 84–75 overtime loss to Chico State), the Otters hadn't scored 70 in defeat since a 85–79 loss to Cal State Stanislaus on Dec. 6, 2008.
GO OTTERS!
