LEADING OFF: CSUMB ends its 2014 season with a split series this weekend against Cal State Stanislaus. The Otters travel to Turlock for a 3 p.m. game on Friday before returning home for a Saturday senior day doubleheader slated for noon. The season finale for both teams is back in Turlock on Sunday at noon.
SCOUTING CAL STATE STANISLAUS: The Warriors went 2-14 in the month of April with a win at Cal State Dominguez Hills and at Cal Poly Pomona. Last weekend, Cal State Stanislaus got swept by Sonoma State after scoring only seven runs in the four games.

LAST TIME OUT: The Otters got back on track last weekend, registering their first series sweep of 2014 with four wins against visiting Cal State San Bernardino. CSUMB took a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the Friday series opener before the game was halted due to rain. OTTERS TOP (OR NEAR) OF CCAA: Junior
Brian Hamm (Pleasanton/Chabot College) has a comfortable lead in the CCAA with 22 stolen bases despite not registering one last weekend. Cal State East Bay's Marcus Wise sits in second with 17. After accumulating two for the third consecutive weekend,
Mark Hurley moved up with UC San Diego's Nick La Face into the top spot with 17 doubles.
CCAA WEEKEND RECAP: After a having zero the weekend before, the CCAA had a unprecedented three series sweeps last weekend that included the Otters on the positive side. Joining CSUMB was Cal State East Bay (against Cal State L.A.) and Sonoma State (against Cal State Stanislaus). San Francisco State and Cal State Dominguez Hills split while Chico State won its series against Cal Poly Pomona 2-1 (final cancelled due to rain)
CSUMB LEADS CONFERNECE: CSUMB leads the CCAA in four categories: doubles (88), doubles per game (1.91), stolen bases (59) and stolen base per game (1.28). The Otters rank second in triples (11) and triples per game (0.24).

Brian Hamm are each leading the CCAA and now are in the top 55 in the latest NCAA statistics. Hurley has accumulated 17 doubles this season, ranking him 26th in the nation. Hamm has been a nightmare for pitchers this season. His 22 stolen bases ranks him 51st among Division II teams. Junior RHP
Jeff Owen is making CSUMB's opponents irked by allowing only 5.74 hits per nine innings, ranking him 16th in the nation.

Brian Hamm flew past
Tommy George's CSUMB record of 21 set in 2012. Hamm has eight games remaining in the season to raise his total of 22 stolen bases.
EAGLE SOARS WITH NO-NO: Josh Eagle tossed CSUMB's first no-hitter in program history on Sunday. With this feat, he was selected NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week. In seven innings of work, Eagle only allowed two walks, while striking out four Coyote batters.
