Men's Golf | November 18, 2014
SEASIDE, Calif. — It's hard to think of it as reloading when the chamber is already full. While the No. 6 ranked Cal State Monterey Bay men's golf team still has its eyes on the NCAA National Championship tournament, Head Coach
Jason Owen is already strengthing his roster for the 2015–16 season with the signing of three highly–regarded prospects.
Prep seniors
Callum Carlström (Båstad, Sweden),
Justin Woo (San Diego/Torrey Pines HS) and
Martin Westerlund (Stockholm, Sweden) have all signed National Letters of Intent to attend CSUMB next fall.
"The class of 2015 is extremely promising," says Owen. "All three of these guys should have a major impact on the program and I can't wait to start working with them. It's exciting to see the level of talent that is coming to play at CSUMB. Now it is time to cultivate that talent and bring home some more national championships."
Carlström currently attends Aspero Idrottsgymnasium in Halmstad, and plans to major in business administration at CSUMB. He hopes to play golf professionally after graduation. Westerlund attends Osgterakers High School in Akersberga. He also plans to major in business administration at CSUMB.
Woo, who has qualified for several prestigeous national and international junior tournaments, will come to CSUMB from Torrey Pines High School, where the Falcons have three consecutive CIF San Diego Section titles. Woo will major in global studies at CSUMB as he also aspires to a career as a professional golfer.
