Otter men's cross country runners Daniel Metzger and Ray Garcia impressed coach Rhines this afternoon.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.— On a warm morning where temperatures reached 80 degrees Fahrenheit the Cal State Monterey Bay men's and women's cross country teams took to the Granite Course in Sacramento. Both teams had performances that continued the program's rising level of respect amongst competition.
Junior-Transfer
Ben Garland once again led the men's team finishing 20th while Freshman
Hannah Bell paced the women's team placing 27th. Garland ran a 20:36.6 in the 4-mile while Bell ran an 18:46.3 in the 5k.
“The mood was positively charged today,” says head coach
Greg Rhines. “Bell finished with the 2nd all-time fastest 5k on the women's side while Garland ran a personal best on the men's side.”
Reesy Byers of host Sacramento State won the men's race with a finishing time of 19:42.3 in the 4-mile while Lyndsie Etherton of Fresno State won the women's 5k finishing with a 17:13.7.

Jennie Yeaman was strong for the women,” says Rhines.
“The teams are getting fierce out there with strong results paving the way to continued success," says Rhines.
CSUMB continues their season next weekend as they return to the Bay Area with a scheduled trip to the Mills College Invitational Saturday, Sept. 15.
