STANFORD, Calif.-- The Cal State Monterey Bay cross country teams traveled to the Stanford Invitational to compete in one of the largest events on this seasons schedule.
The Otters took the course with some of the countries most elite runners. Junior
Cameron Cruse (Seaside/MPC) made a repeated performance leading CSUMB in the 8k with a final time of 26:46. In addition to Cruse,
Karson Hayden (Huntington Beach/Servite) saw an improved time from the Otters last appearance. Hayden finished 151
st with a 27:13 final time.
In a stacked field, the women competed with a group of 36 teams. With the majority of the team pacing together,
Piper Delaney (Medford, Ore./ Boise State) pulled away early to lead with a finishing time of 22:57 in the 6k.
CSUMB will head up to the Sonoma State Invitational on Saturday Oct. 1 in Santa Rosa at Spring Lake Park.
