CSUMB Takes Second At Sonoma State Invitational

.— The Cal State Monterey Bay cross country programs each saw top performances making second place finishes respectively.
 
The women finished second only being outscored by Cal State East Bay by a single point. The Otter where led by top performer Piper Delaney, with an individual third place finishing time of 22:35. This time becomes Delaney's personal best at CSUMB.

Just short of placing top five individualy with a 6th place finishing time  was CSUMB Cristina Hernandez at 23:15. The women saw six personal best finishes from the previous weekend.
 
"The women's team is ratcheting up their efforts,” says Head Coach Greg Rhines. “Their confidence and training beginning to show through. Most had personal bests today, and they are just starting this ride."
 
Continuing with the trend of the season, Cameron Cruse dropped time as the top finisher for the Otter men's team with a final time of 26:40, making that a personal best time, six second faster than his previous appearance at the Stanford Invitational.
 
With the full men's roster participating in the event, joining Cruse was an additional seven Otters with season best times.
 
"The men's squad had their best outing to date,” says coach Rhines. “Cameron set a new school record today, with the next four MB runners hitting lifetime bests."
 
The Otters will make their first trip down to southern California, competing in the UC San Diego Triton Classic on Saturday Oct. 8.
