SEASIDE --- #Chelsea Laning#, Cal State Monterey Bay's top scorer on the water polo team, is currently in a tie for fourth place in NCAA scoring this season. Laning has 69 goals in 25 games.

Laning scored 10 goals last week in three games against Division I opponents Brown University, Hartwick College and Stanford, ranked No. 2 in the nation. CSUMB lost all three contests.

Laning, a senior who is a two-time All-American, is joined on the scoring list by teammate #Nikki Smart#, a freshman. Smart has 39 goals on the year and is tied for 36th. Laning is averaging 2.76 goals per game, Smart is averaging 1.56.

The women's water polo team is on the road this week and will play in Davis, Calif. at the UC Davis Aggies Shootout on Sunday. The Otters (15-10 overall) will play CSU San Bernardino at 11:45 a.m. and then Colorado State University at 3:30 p.m.
