MERCED, Calif. — Led by a goal and a career-high five assists from senior Alex Harris (Davis Senior HS/Long Beach State) Cal State Monterey Bay secured a convincing 12-7 victory over UC Merced Sunday afternoon. The win clinched a season sweep of the new Western Water Polo Association member.

Nalani Galindo (Poway HS/Miramar College) led the scoring for CSUMB with her second hat trick of 2026. Kaya Eaton (San Diego/Helix Charter HS) and Katie Rudis Oceanside/El Camino HS) added two goals apiece. Other scorers for the Otters included Kira Clark, Abby Allan, Emma Sosa and Olivia Gutierrez.

UC Merced played its strongest game ever in its brief series with the Otters, jumping to a 4–3 lead after the first period. But Eaton scored twice in the second period as CSUMB righted the raft and claimed an 8–5 lead by intermission. The Bobcats never got closer than three goals over the final 16 minutex.

Marissa White (Union City/Mission San Jose HS) backstopped the Otter defense with 15 saves. Eaton led a strong netfront presence with four steals.

The Otters will continue their 4-season, season-ending roadtrip Tuesday at Fresno Pacific. Please note that the game has been moved from Sunnyside Aquatics Center to Sanger High School. First sprint still is scheduled for 1 p.m.
