Pittman Named CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week

Otter standout earns conference honors after third-place finish in Texas

September 30, 2026

SEASIDE, Calif. — Cal State Monterey Bay's Morgan Pittman has been named the CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week following a standout performance at the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational at Tascosa Golf Club's La Paloma Course.

Pittman finished third overall at 4-under par, carding rounds of 72, 68 and 69 for a 54-hole total of 209. She played her final 36 holes at 5-under par while helping the Otters earn a third-place team finish.

After opening the tournament with a 1-over 72, Pittman caught fire during the second round. She recorded six birdies on her way to a 3-under 68, including four birdies over her final eight holes.

Pittman carried that momentum into Tuesday's final round, firing a 2-under 69 to climb into third place. She made the turn at 3-under after birdies on Nos. 2, 6 and 9 and played her first 16 holes without a bogey.

For the tournament, Pittman recorded 14 birdies across 54 holes and posted under-par scores in each of her final two rounds. Her 68 in the second round was her lowest score of the tournament, while her closing 69 secured her first top-three finish of the season.

Pittman's performance helped CSUMB finish third in the 10-team field at 15-over, behind only UT Dallas and host West Texas A&M.

This is Pittman's first career CCAA Golfer of the Week award and the first for CSUMB since Cathy Tong earned it last February.

CSUMB returns to the course on Oct. 12-13 to tackle the field at the Western Washington Invitational held at the Bellingham Golf & Country Club.
