Otters Finish 13th at NCAA Regional

FINAL RESULTS


STOCKTON, Calif. — The Cal State Monterey Bay men's golf team moved up one spot in the final round to finish play at the 2026 NCAA West Regional in 13th place Saturday on the Reserve at Spanos Park course.

It was a strong finish for the Otters, who overcame at tough first round to move up seven spots over the final 36 holes. In the process, CSUMB leaped past five teams ranked aboved them in the national rankings, including No. 8 St. Mary's (Texas) University and No. 23 UT Permian Basin.

Junior Alex Cooke (Spokane, Wash./Gonzaga Prep) led the way for CSUMB, finishing the tournament in 10th place a 1-under for the 54-hole event. Cooke shot 1-over in the final round.

Freshman Zaid Khan (Sacramento/CMASAS) led the Otters Saturday, carding a 2-under 70 to finish tied for 42nd place at 3-over. Freshman Ben Christian (Dexter, Mo./Dexter Senior HS) also finished in the top half of the 112-player field, placing 46th at 4-over.

Western Washington University won the team title with a 3-wtroke victory over West Texas A&M. WWU's Conrad Brown was the individual champion at 10-under.

The NCAA West Regional concluded the 2025-26 season for CSUMB men's golf.
