Otters Currently in Sixth After Nearly Two Rounds of Play

Second round still not complete at NCAA West Regionals

May 04, 2026

PUEBLO, Colo. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team is currently tied for sixth after nearly two rounds of play at the NCAA West Regional held at the Pueblo Country Club. Due to the forecast of inclement weather, the teams were not able to finish the 36-holes after moving the championship to a two-day event.

"It was a long, challenging day of golf with the wind blowing and very difficult hole locations," CSUMB head coach Jim Ragan said. "As high as the scores look every stroke was well earned. Super proud of how we hung in there and posted a strong second round score to get us in position for a meaningful last round. Morgan stepped up big time, shooting 1-over the second round. Khivi was steady in both rounds to keep us in contention. We are looking forward to playing tomorrow with a shot at going to the National Championship."

The Otters responded in a big way in round two as they fired a 17-over 297. Freshman Khivi Kaur still has a final hole to play and will tee off at 8 a.m. MT.

The rest of the Otters completed the two rounds as sophomore Morgan Pittman led the charge with a 1-over 72. Pittman carded two birdies in the second round and posted an 11-over to open the regional to sit tied for 14th at 12-over.

Senior Cathy Tong also rebounded in the second round, firing a 3-over 74. Tong is currently tied for 21st with a 36-hole score of 14-over.

Kaur was strong out of the gate for CSUMB in round one with an 8-over and stayed consistent in round two at 6-over to join Tong in 21st place.

Newcomer Audrey Cheng fared better in the second round, recording a 7-over and is currently tied for 61st at 20-over. Classmate Esther Sheu is 67th overall at 22-over.

The third and final round is scheduled to begin at approximately 11 a.m. MT.
