SEASIDE, Calif. – Three Otters from the Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team nabbed All-CCAA recognition on the annual postseason awards list, the conference office announced.
For the third time in her stellar career, senior
Cathy Tong garnered first-team honors. Tong finished tied for eighth at the CCAA Championship and enters NCAA postseason play with a 75.04 stroke average.
Her best finish came at the LA Spring Kickoff, where she was the runner-up and was tabbed CCAA Golfer of the Week for her performance.
Freshman
Khivi Kaur and sophomore
Morgan Pittman were named honorable mention.
Kaur is second on the team with a 77.08 stroke average, posting three rounds under par, with a season-best 69 at the West Texas Invitational. Her best finish was at the Desert Invitational, where she placed fourth.
Pittman earns conference honors for the first time. The sophomore currently holds a 77.58 stroke average with her best round of 71 coming at the nearby Patriot Invitational. Pittman tied for eighth at the CCAA Championship for her best showing on the season.
The Otters will begin NCAA postseason competition at the NCAA West Regional. The West Regional will take place at the Pueblo Club in Pueblo, Colo. The 54-hole event will begin on Monday, May 4, with a round being played each day.
