Otters Qualify for NCAA Division II West Regional

CSUMB tied for second at the CCAA Championship

SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team will return to the NCAA Division II Regional Championship. The NCAA officially announced the regional fields on Sunday as the Otters are one of 18 teams selected to compete from the West Region.

The West Regional will take place at the Pueblo Club in Pueblo, Colo. The 54-hole event will begin on Monday, May 4, with a round being played each day.

"We are excited to earn our spot in NCAA Regionals and looking forward to competing," head coach Jim Ragan said. "We have a talented and young team with three freshmen, a sophomore and one senior making up our lineup. Advancing to regionals with this young team will be add value and experience to our squad for years to come."

All participants will compete through the 54 holes of competition. The top five teams along with the top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the championships.
 
CSUMB is coming off a second place finish at the CCAA Championship where four Otters posted top-10 finishes as Audrey Cheng paced the team with a fifth-place showing.

The championships will be held May 12-16 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The number of participants that qualify for the finals is 98.
