Otters Sit Atop the West Region in NCAA Rankings

CSUMB vying for fifth-straight CCAA title

April 29, 2026

SEASIDE, Calif. – The No. 12-ranked Cal State Monterey Bay baseball team enters the final weekend of the regular season atop the West Region rankings, the NCAA formally announced Wednesday.

The Otters boast a two-game lead in the CCAA standings with a 19-9 mark and are 34-12 overall.

CSUMB will close out the regular season with a four-game home series against Stanislaus State, beginning tomorrow.

Heading into the final week, the Otters are looking to make conference history as the first team in the storied history of the CCAA to win five-straight regular season titles.

The No. 1 regional ranking has huge postseason implications for the Otters as they are currently in line to host throughout the regional phases of NCAA postseason play.

CSUMB has boasted one of the most arduous schedules in the region, entering the Stanislaus series with the No. 1 RPI in the West and the third-best strength of schedule.

The Otters came out of the gates by taking the opening series from Point Loma on the road and also took down the reigning regional champion Northwest Nazarene in non-conference play. In all, CSUMB has earned series victories over five teams ranked in the West.

After the series against the Warriors, the Otters will head to San Bernardino for the CCAA Tournament. The annual event will begin for CSUMB on Thursday, May 7. The appearance marked the 10th straight for the Otters.

The NCAA West Regional will be the week after, scheduled for May 14-16.
