Otters Rally to Tie for Second at CCAA Golf Championship

CSUMB shoots up the leaderboard in the final two rounds

April 22, 2026

STOCKTON – The Cal State Monterey Bay women's golf team shot up leaderboard in the final two rounds, rallying from fourth place after the opening round to finish tied for second overall at the CCAA Women's Golf Championships, held at The Reserve at Spanos Park.

"The team did a good job today of not giving up," head coach Jim Ragan said. "We had a bad start and were really playing from behind most of the day. We made our share of mistakes but were able to pull off a T2 for the championship. Audrey had a great tournament, setting the pace for us with a fifth place finish, earning her a spot on the CCAA All-Championship Team."

The Otters began the tournament in fourth place with a first-round score of 313 (+25). However, CSUMB responded with a dominant second round, carding a 298 (+10)—a 15-stroke improvement that propelled the team into contention.

The Otters maintained their momentum in the final round with a 311 (+23), ultimately finishing with a combined 922 strokes, 58-over par, tying Cal State LA for second place overall.

Cal State San Marcos captured the championship with a winning score of 887, 23-over par.

Audrey Cheng led the Otters throughout the championship, finishing tied for fifth overall with a 228 total, 12-over par, that included three rounds of 76.

Esther Sheu finished tied for seventh overall at 232, 16-over par, with a final-round 78. Morgan Pittman and Cathy Tong both tied for eighth place with scores of 233, while Khivi Kaur rounded out the lineup in 19th place with a 240 total, 24-over par.

The Otters will continue postseason play at the NCAA West Regional. Tournament play will begin on Monday, May 4, and will be held at the Pueblo Country Club.
